We held off until early afternoon for our daily snoop. Tiling wasn't in process as predicted Saturday, rather some kitchen cabinets were in place. I didn't take a picture, darn. Jay (father of the finish carpentry duo) arrived and we had a pleasant chat with him. Ginnie noticed one of the cabinets was in the wrong place. Oops. He gave it a tug and showed us it wasn't permanent and would be moved to its assigned spot. It was a preliminary layout to get things organized.
He asked about finish carpentry in the basement. We don't know, ask Paul B. Jay did say that lots of people were named Paul on this job - builder, lead plumber, and an owner.
We opted for maple, natural finish cabinets while model homes featured painted maple . If it's maple, let it shine through. Our current kitchen cabinets are natural (a.k.a. clear finish) maple, darker than the new ones, but I think they will darken with time.
Jay said the tilers were supposed to start today, but the tile just got delivered. Tile tomorrow, we hear. Stay off it for 24 hours. We'll be good.
