wood flooring

Wednesday I drove by 2:00 or so after lunch with some friends, disappointed to see no activity. Sigh. I waited until about 4:00 to call Paul B. to ask about the closing date he promised. He was at the house, with the wood flooring contractor, and wanted me/us to visit the site today to decide a subtlety of how the surfaces intersect between kitchen, living room, and hallway.

This morning on the way home from my weekly breakfast gathering, I met Melanie and Darren who were busy nailing the oak flooring. They said they arrived about 2:30 yesterday, just after I was there. We decided on the transitions Paul had asked about, and I got out of their way so they could nail away.

They said they would finish the wood today, cover it with cardboard so no one messes it up. We stopped by later in the morning to see the living room finished, the kitchen about half done. Our water was supposed to be turned off today at the old home, so we spent the day shopping for towel racks, bath stuff, etc. No decisions though.

What's up for tomorrow? Tile?
